Dragon Stout and Tropical Sun sponsored the 2008 Miss Black Britain beauty pageant at the prestigious Leicester Square theatre offering a dynamic fusion of fashion, entertainment and music.
The event provides young women a platform to showcase their talent in the entertainment industry in Britain. MBB embraces black beauty and celebrates the inner beauty of young black women.
Over 500 guests attended the event which was compared by guest DJs Melvin and Rickie (MTV & KISS FM). Dragon Stout was on hand throughout the evening and served to all VIP guests
Tropical Sun sauces were served with enticing Caribbean canapés prepared by legendary Chef Collin Brown from the Lane Restaurant. (Collin is one of the first Chef’s in the UK to demonstrate Caribbean fine dining, and we think his use of ingredients and fusion of tastes will earn him at least a couple of AA rosettes or Michelin stars in the coming years).

We congratulate this year’s winner Helen Lawal, a fourth-year medicine student at Hull York Medical School, who beat off stiff competition to land the coveted prize. The winner was presented with a nutritious Tropical Sun hamper filled with goodies and will be signed up for a one-year modelling contract to launch her career.
"The whole point of the competition is to be a positive image for young black people, it’s not just about beauty and modelling," said Helen. "I have got more of a social mission this year. I want to do a lot of charity work and incorporate it with my medical work."
