Discover the insiders secret with the launch of Jamaica Sun’s Traditional Jerk Seasoning

Striving ahead in the Afro-Caribbean food evolution, Wanis Limited has developed a second authentic jerk seasoning into the market, to run alongside its Jamaica Sun Original Jerk Seasoning.

Using original Jamaican recipes and prepared using quality Jamaican ingredients, the launch of its Jamaica Sun Traditional Jerk Seasoning has been developed to extend its current Jerk range and provide a distinctive home-style formulation into the market. 

“Many people who love Jerk have never been to the Caribbean, and so are used to the existing taste of Jerk as we know it.  Those with personal associations with the Caribbean are likely to appreciate the different taste profile of the Traditional blend.

Consumer feedback told us there was a gap in the UK market for a truly home-style taste. We have tried to recreate that certain taste that is so reminiscent of Jamaica, reggae and carnival, only found in back yard Jamaica,” says Sales Director John Payne.

“With different taste profiles, we expect the new Traditional Jerk Seasoning to appeal to the core jerk lover and the Original Jerk Seasoning to cater for the everyday jerk consumer,” continues Payne.

The launch of Jamaica Sun Traditional Jerk Seasoning is expected to be supported by trade promotions to encourage stocking, press advertising and promotion to raise awareness and encourage sampling through the relevant media.

Both the Traditional and the Original jerk seasoning are great to use straight onto the BBQ as well as in the kitchen.   We hope the launch would further support the impressive sales on our Jamaica Sun range presently recording 20% Y-O-Y sales and further support the continuing growth of the Afro-Caribbean food market in UK.
